Al Gore Interfering in Canada’s Policies
Why is a new Environmental Policy, complete with actions, a bad idea? It’s a whole lot better than the promises with no actions from the previous Government. Maybe it could be tougher but it’s certainly a start. And why does anyone even take any notice of Al Gore? How can he know what’s best for Canada? I would bet he was briefed by someone in Canada who wants a nominal support of Kyoto and without that, feels the policy is nothing. If you’ve ever visited the U.S., you know that they hear nothing about what’s going on in Canada - so we know Gore has only heard what a limited group wants him to hear.
But Chretien knew from the beginning that Kyoto could not be achieved in Canada and Liberals admitted that (during the leadership campaign). So do we want more talk or do we want actions? Let’s at least do something then build from there as required. I’d like to believe that Canadians can see through this latest noise.

Now that you’ve dismissed Al Gore’s comments, what will you come up with to dismiss what David Suzuki said? You can’t claim he doesn’t understand Canadian issues and you can’t fault his scientific credentials either.
The man knows what he is talking about, and so does Al Gore. Depending on the conservative federal government to save our environment will be a disaster for us and our children. This government is beholden to the very same Big Businesses, especially Big Oil, who are the worst polluters in the country, and I don’t believe for a minute they have any serious plans to change their ways.
Get a grip, Mr. Draper, there’s too much at stake to simply dismiss educated criticisms so thoughtlessly.

R U kidding…the environment is our lifeblood…and it is polluted so much that now it is NEWS. Fish are going belly up, birds are dying by the millions, people are getting odd diseases (Morgellons for instance) and ALS, and ADD, and food is coming in from countries that don’t have North American standards of safety…dogs and cats are dying…and on and on. Do I think Al Gore knows something we don’t know…NO…but I do think Al Gore has come too late!

Here’s a link uou might find interesting. Just because a manufacturer says something is ‘green’ or ‘environmentally friendly’ does that automatically mean it is? Margaret Atwood drives a Prius and Leonardo diCaprio gives them to his friends as Christmas presents. How’s that for an environmental pedigree, eh? Still….I think I’ll take a pass after reading this….

There’s an article in this month’s The Walrus Magazine all about the delightfully madcap bunch over here in Port Slope called FARE -Families Against Radiation Exposure and that organization’s sixth toe PHCHCC -Port Hope Community Health Concerns Committee (or something equally clumsy).
It isn’t the atricle that’s a regular laugh riot, it’s the comments that follow it -like the one from ‘Clean Air Clean Water Clean Soil’ (how precious is that?) wherein the writer claims that ‘most days’ he or she cannot breathe going into the A&P because of the ‘toxic air’ emanating from Esco.
Human nature’s a funny thing, ain’t it? All these people want is to be sick. Really, really sick with open sores and ears falling off and Night Of The Living Dead complexions. They want everybody else to be sick with them -with all the same horrifying symptoms they imagine themselves to be suffering. But it isn’t happening. There’s now smoking gun. The dots simply cannot be connected. But no matter. Away they go, windmill on the horizon and Sanch Panza at their side, dreaming the impossible dream.
They need to drink more. Hang around bars. Listen to better quality bullshit and learn from it. Laugh once in a while. God….there’s more to life, isn’t there?
Anyway…go to
http://www.walrusmagazine.ca and see for yourself. The article in question is called ‘Nuclear Reaction. (Geddit?)
