Eligibility to Vote

voteMPAC provides the voter list and it is now online at so you can check that you are on the list. If you are not on the list, you can ask that you are added. You are eligible if you are a Canadian Citizen, 18 years old and a resident, tenant or owner of land in Cobourg.

Election Dates

  • Nominations will be accepted from May 1, 2018 to July 27 at 2:00 pm. Forms will be available as of April 2018.  There is an information meeting for all Northumberland Candidates (or potential Candidates) on April 24 at 7:00pm in Victoria Hall.   • Voting will be from October 15 to 22, 2018. Voting closes 8:00 pm October 22.
  • The new Council will take office December 1, 2018 with the first Council meeting on December 3.


  • Voting will be possible by Phone, Internet or at a Voter Help Centre Location (TBA)
  • Voters will vote for a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, 5 Councillors and a School Board Trustee.
