If you have  a “real” Christmas tree, it will eventually need to be disposed of. The Town of Cobourg (not the County) provides this service starting January 11, 2016.  So if you have a Christmas tree to be disposed of, put it out on the curbside the night of January 10 and sometime in the next week or so, a Cobourg Works department truck will come by and run your tree through their chipper.

Xmas TreeThe Town’s announcement says:

Citizens are asked to place trees on the curbside the night prior to pick up, to not wrap trees in plastic and to remove all nails, metal, ornaments, tree stands and tinsel from the trees.

In addition, they say that if you miss the pickup, you can drop your tree off at the Public Works Yard at 390 King Street West from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday until January 22, 2016.

If you need further info, you can call the Public Works Department at (905) 372-9971.
