Information on meetings held to collect feedback from residents.

There is a page on the Town’s web site that lists all Public Meetings.  Go here. Well, it's supposed to be all meetings but many are missing.

For meetings related to the 2025 Budget, go here.

Give up?  Most "Public Meetings" are Planning and Development meetings anyway - see next section

Public Meetings - Planning and Development

Public Meetings for Planning and development are often listed on the "Development Dashboard" which can be accessed here.

But this is not always up to date.

Where available, notices of Public meetings for the Town are listed below.  That is, it's a list of meetings as advised by Public Notices - some meetings are aimed at only nearby residents.

Welcome Intersection Feasibility Study

6 Sept. 2024 Northumberland County has released the Welcome Intersection Improvements Feasibility Study, which provides recommendations for operational and safety enhancements at the intersection of County Road 2, County Road 10, and County Road 74 (Dale Road) in the rural hamlet of Welcome. This intersection, located approximately 1.2 km north of Highway 401 in the Municipality of Port Hope, has a unique configuration that has contributed to traffic incidents and driver confusion.

The study evaluated various design alternatives, including converting the intersection to a four-way stop, constructing a roundabout, or maintaining the current three-way stop configuration with improvements. After detailed data collection, public consultation, and analysis, the study recommends reconstructing the three-way stop as the preferred option, enhancing safety and connectivity while minimizing the impact on private property and utilities.

Northumberland County will host a public information session on Wednesday, October 23 at the New Hope United Church from 6 p.m to 7:30 p.m., to provide residents and road users an opportunity to learn more about the results of the feasibility study and future intersection improvements. The session will include a presentation of the study's findings, a discussion of the planned 3-way stop intersection reconstruction, and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

Public Information Session Details:

Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2024
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Location: New Hope United Church, 4651 CR 2, Port Hope

No pre-registration is required.
