The Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums staged a flash mob event on the Cobourg pier on Sunday August 28, 2016. After the initial playing of Highland Cathedral, they went on to play a couple of popular tunes finishing with Amazing Grace.
The Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums are a popular band and very active in Cobourg - they participate in most parades and prominently feature in November 11 ceremonies. Cobourg also hosts an annual Highland Games in late June - well they did up to 2023 but for 2024 they moved to Port Hope.
